Today I am as excited as a child on Christmas! I ordered Photoshop Elements 11 from Amazon last week (really reasonably priced too, I should add) and it arrived today! Before Christmas, I'd downloaded the free trial version from Adobe to try digital scrapbooking on it and immediately was hooked. If you haven't tried digital scrapbooking yet, you really should. I know a lot of people are already into digital scrapbooking, but just in case there are any others who like me, have caught onto this late, all it takes to get started are some digital papers and elements. You can do a google search for 'free digital scrapbooking' and find everything you need to get started. Here is a great site that has lots to choose from (for FREE!):

Once you try it out and see how much fun it is, you can search online for more free digital scrapbooking kits or you can find some to purchase online. What I like so much about this is that most everything is available for instant download, meaning you find something you like, buy it, download it and get started scrapping your memories right away. Right now my favorite site for purchasing digital scrapbooking kits (and anything else you may need) is: Pickleberrypop.
Not only do they have a great shop, with amazing designers where you can purchase everything you need for digiscrapping, but they also have a gallery where you can be inspired by what others have created and a forum where you can connect with others who enjoy digiscrapping as well.
After you've downloaded the papers, elements, alphas and figured out what pictures you want to use, you will need to be able to put them together. If you don't have Photoshop, but want to create scrapbook pages and layouts digitally anyway, you can go to: Pixlr. From all the free photo editing software I've tried (and I've tried a lot of them) Pixlr is my favorite to use for digital scrapbooking. It allows you to work in layers and you can free transform your images, which is a must for me since I don't have the patience to scale everything. It also lets you save your work in PNG format which is necessary if you create something with a transparent background. There are many other free sites that allow you to put your digital scrapbook pages together and free software to download. You can do a google search and see which one looks right for you.
Well, it looks like my new Photoshop Elements is finished installing, so off I go to the happy land of digiscrapping!
